Paul Morella’s one-of-a-kind solo performance of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas has enjoyed universal critical acclaim, sold-out houses, and become a holiday tradition for many DC theatregoers. Drawn almost entirely from the novella, Morella’s adaptation presents this time-honored classic as Dickens originally intended and creates a magical holiday experience that combines storytelling, performance and stagecraft. It is A Christmas Carol like you’ve never seen before, and it brings to life the brilliant prose, imagery and characterizations of Dickens in a totally unique and memorable way. As The Washington Post declared: “Interpretations of the Dickens classic must run into the thousands, and if you have a favorite – well, God bless you, every one.
